late afternoon dance party

I couldn't resist posting another clip from Ella's flip. She has placed the camera on the ground for a typical Ella/Wade dance party. Looks like they are ready for a night out at gay man fantasy island bar! Notice how Thomas kicks the camera at the end...Classic...

During the Obama/MLK parade around silverlake reservoir Thomas kept asking me when we were going to finally get to Obama's house to see him.

Thomas was arguing back and forth with Ella's friend Keya in the car and he finally was fed up and he said...

"Watch out, I'm going to do kung fu on you."

Kath: "What do you think about Prop 8? Should a man be able to marry a man or a woman a woman?"

Ella: Yes, it's only fair of course. But mom, I like boys. I'm straight."

Kath: "Let's go to the library and get new books."

Thomas: "No! I don't like the library it's too loud!"

Ella: "I feel like she is controlling me with a remote control... like I am a doll and she is moving me around making me do things. "

Ella: "My brain is having a pillow fight with my skull!"

Ella: "I have two favorite directors mom."
Kath: "Oh yeah? Who are they?"
Ella: "Tim Burton and Hayao Miyazaki."

Ella: "Mom, why does everything you use have to be cute?"

Just before bed during that space between awake and asleep Ella asks... "Mom, what's chili?" Then maybe a minute later Thomas asks about his bob the builder toy... "Mom, Is Grabber an excavator?" Oh... the thoughts and questions kids have just before they drift off to dreamland

Ella: I like the Angels better than the Dodgers.
Wade: Why?
Ella: Because angels are sweet and dodgers aren't . What is a dodger anyway?

Out of nowhere Thomas will say. "Mom, I happy." The first time Wade and I heard him say it it made our hearts melt. How could it not?

Ella wanted to have mommy and daughter time so she suggested we get a Korean manicure and go window shopping.

"Dos isgusting!" says Thomas. Translation: Those are disgusting.

Every time Thomas watches Wallace and Gromit he has to have a plate of crackers and cheese in front of him. He says, "Cheese, Gromit, cheese!"

I told Thomas how I use to have alot of cats when I was little and so now out of the blue he'll say..."Mom, you have cats you little?" You like dem?"

Thomas also likes to ask me where my parents are. "Where your mom?" Where your dad?"

Thomas likes to sing Iron Man by Black Sabbath

Thomas has questions about gender. He likes to ask who has Mr's and who doesn't. He goes through a list of people he knows.. "Maddox has a Mr?" "Dada has a Mr? Mama has a Mr? To which I reply, Mama doesn't have a Mr. mama has a Misses." He replies, "Oh."

In reference to Wade's weight loss..."Dad you're shrinking!"

Ella was giving Wade a massage with lotion on his back and she came to the back of his legs and said "I'm going to have to brush your down fur."

Ella now wants to open her own massage parlor and call it...Bear Fur Man Spa. ( I have a feeling I know who will frequent this joint.)

Ella listening to John Denver in the car. "Wow, John Denver really likes the country doesn't he?

Wade had been gone all day and he came home just in time to tuck Thomas into bed. He peeked in the room and Thomas head popped up and he said "Dad, where you go? You go Weight Watchers?"

Ella says if a school bus could cry I think it's tears would be square.

Over dinner at Wahoo's Ella whispers to dad:
Dad, if you got divorced you would be able to drink all the diet coke you wanted.

Ella: Mom, I'm going to get you a big inflatable bratz doll for christmas and shes going to be dressed as Mrs. Claus.
Me: ....

Walking to school:
Me: Ella. I think I'm only going to walk you to the gate instead of to your line okay?
Ella: Why?
Me: Because I just rolled out of bed and I don't want anyone to see me.
Ella: Oh mom, (laughing) don't worry your zits looks gorgeous!

Bedtime:
Ella: Mom, I can't sleep. I'm afraid of Aqua Dots. I'm afraid of their poison.
Me: Ella, don't worry I threw all the aqua dots away. The only way you can get sick is if you swallow them.
Ella: It's a good thing you threw them away cuz we were pretending they were food for my polly pockets.

a skateboard is a baby-o
a hammer is a knock knock
a spatula or any cooking utensil is a wee wee
a swimsuit is a brrmp (swim) brrrmp (suit)
an airplane is a hotplane

Anytime anything breaks or Thomas can't find something he says... "Want go Targit get new one, k mama?"
